On 30 June 2026, the Zug Commodity Association (ZCA), in collaboration with Glencore, will host a high-level event in Zug titled:
“Geoeconomics of Energy and Critical Minerals: Ensuring Security of Supply in a Fragmented Global Economy.”

The event will take place at the Park Hotel Zug and is offered free of charge, bringing together professionals across the commodities and energy sectors.

Designed as an expert-led session, the event will explore the intersection of geopolitics, energy markets, and critical minerals, with a focus on securing supply chains in an increasingly fragmented global landscape.

Market Context and Focus

Energy and critical minerals have become central to global economic and geopolitical strategy. The acceleration of the energy transition, combined with rising geopolitical fragmentation, is reshaping supply chains and increasing competition for key resources.

Access to critical minerals—essential for technologies such as batteries, renewables, and advanced manufacturing—is increasingly influenced by trade policies, resource nationalism, and strategic alliances. At the same time, traditional energy markets remain exposed to geopolitical shocks and structural shifts in demand.

This event focuses on how market participants can navigate these dynamics, with particular emphasis on security of supply, geoeconomic positioning, and the evolving role of major commodity players in a fragmented global system.
